Female Odyssey

Female Odyssey

“Female Odyssey” is a scientific and educational program which takes place in Kalymnos and some other Dodecanese islands!

The program aims to raise understanding and appreciation of our marine ecosystems in local communities with a series of educational, social and environmental actions!

In the upcoming April, a sailing survey will set sails from the island of Kalymnos making its course towards Lipsi, Patmos, Nisyros and Tilos!

Leading this survey are 5 females marine researchers and professionals, ready to connect with local communities and schools on the 5 islands.

Through its scientific data and interactive educational activities, “Female Odyssey” aims to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and public awareness. By engaging local communities—particularly younger generations—the program emphasizes the importance of marine biodiversity and conservation, protecting sensitive habitats, and promoting sustainable practices to ensure the long-term health of our ecosystems.

Stay around for more information about the upcoming actions of this program!

“Female Odyssey” is implemented with the support of Athina I. Martinou Foundation in the framework of “Points of Support”, a co-funded program by 10 public benefit foundations.
